Show HN: Formtone – intent detection for forms (API-first)

Hi HN,

I’m building Formtone, a form backend that analyzes form responses and surfaces the signal that usually gets buried.

Once forms start getting real volume (support, feedback, reviews), reading every submission doesn’t scale. Important issues get missed, and everything starts to feel equally urgent. Users may point to the same problem or request the same feature in many different ways. Manual triage often misses this.

Formtone processes incoming text and:

- detects sentiment

- scores priority

- categorizes responses into user defined categories

- summarizes responses

- drafts suggested replies

- suggests actionable insights based on recurring patterns

It also tracks sentiment change week over week for each form you create and find most common issues.

It works with any form via a simple API or webhook, and can push insights to tools like Slack or Discord.

I’m especially interested in feedback on:

- whether this solves a real problem for you

- what signals you’d want surfaced first

- how you handle form feedback today

Happy to answer questions. Thanks for taking a look.
